These embroideries share the stories of Latin American women from the Eugene and Springfield communities in Oregon. Each stitch reflects memories, traditions, and the colors of everyday life.
The exhibition also highlights the work of our special guests: visual artist Maricela Figueroa Zamilpa—whose embroidery appears on the poster—and artisan Fabiola Marroquín, who brings the beauty of ancestral craft into the present.
Jessica Zapata led the coordination of this annual project, with the support of Rose Oakman, Educator for Community Engagement and Well-being at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. This initiative has been organized by Eugene Arte Latino and Comunidad y Herencia Cultural, in collaboration with the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art and the Emerald Art Center.
